Let us morn the departure of EAA 1345 President Dale Anderson and his wife and newsletter editor Lynn for the greener pastures of Montana, while thanking them for going out with a bang at the EAA Holiday Party. I now look forward to the new management of our local EAA chapter 1345. We can also look forward to the upcoming improvements to the runway at KBDN, but not the extended closures it will require. So lots of things to discuss at our first CO-OPA Monthly Meeting of the year. On January 20th,, the usual Third Thursday of the month we’ll meet in the Bend Builders Assist hanger, 63030 Powell Butte Road, on the south west corner of KBDN, at 6pm. Bring your own dinner, and we’ll eat right away before food get cold. As always, many thanks go out to Mike Robertson, and Mike Wissing, for letting us use their space. weatherunderground has good news about or Fly-out day. Sunny, 0% chance of rain, and light winds. Newsletter Inputs: Check out current and past CO-OPA newsletters, view our membership list and view hot aviation links on our website at: http://co-opa.com Please send comments and story ideas to: gem@rellim.com Airshow of the Cascades: It may seem too early to think about the airshow in Madras on August 26th and 27th, but time is running out for the good stuff. A few RV spots on the airport have opened up, and they will sell out fast. Volunteer for the cool positions, like the VIP Hospitality tent, or the Hot Box, will also be filled before you know it. Contact Gary Miller, today, if you are interested. Last year’s headline act, the Golden Knights, asked the airshow to return again for 2022, and of course the show said yes. The CAF will return with the B-17, and likely another WWII bomber as well. Stay tuned as more acts get firmed up. Fly-out: We managed one Fly-out since July, and that was our November trip to Burns (KBNO). But it was a really nice one. Perfect weather for 5 planes to head out. Not a bump the whole time, We took both crew cars into town to R.J.s for lunch. They warned us it would take 45 minutes to get food, but it took 90 minutes. Which gave us a lot of time for the usual pilot chatter, people watching, and coffee. Fred Berardo flew in his Grumman, Miles in his new (to him) Cherokee with 2 friends. Gary E. Miller with Don Wilfong in a T210F.
