President's Message:

Of course you all filed your tax extensions by now, so time to relax
and chit chat with your fellow local pilots.  Be at the Bend Builders
Assist hanger, 63030 Powell Butte Road, on the south west corner of
KBDN, on April 29th (the Third Thursday) at 6pm.

Bring your own dinner, and we’ll eat right away before food get
cold.  As always, many thanks go out to Mike Robertson, and Mike
Wissing, for letting us use their space.

The weather out the window, just before our meeting does not look
good, but Weather Underground is a bit optimistic.  WU forecasts
high of 63F, winds light and variable, partly cloudy in the morning,
but becoming cloudy by 2pm.  Returning to mostly cloudy by 6pm.  The
weather.gov forecast is similar.  No forecast on cloud heights yet.  The
valley weather does not look good.  Fingers crossed for good weather.

Fly-out:

I guess there was a nice Fly-out last month to Independence Airport
(7S5).  The weather was unusually nice, here and in the valley.  Three
airplanes left for 7S5, before the briefing, without prior notice, and
had a nice flight with lunch at The Starduster Cafe.

The two of us at the briefing, hoping to beg rides, instead headed
out to Jake’s for a fine breakfast and gossip.

Oregon Pilots Association:

A quick reminder that we are a chapter of the Oregon Pilots
Association.  They have a fine newsletter, and earn their $25 annual
dues.  More info at:

KRDM RSAT:

Serco, which staffs the Redmond (KRDM) aircraft control tower is host
a Runway Safety Action Team meeting on May 10th at 9-11am.  If you use
KRDM this is a great chance to learn about their airport operations, and
to make suggestions to improve them.

The meeting will be in the Redmond Airport Snow Removal and Equipment
Building.  Hopefully it will not snow that day.  The address is 1300 SE
Forest Service Dr.  There will also be a Virtual Meeting option.  To
