Website http://co-opa.com August 2016, Vol. 16, Issue 8 President's Message: It may be a tad on the warm side, but the weather has been, and is forecast to be , clear, light winds, and stable air all over the state. And so much to do, our Fly-Out this weekend, Airshow of the Cascades next weekend., WAAAM Fly-In for early September. Let’s enjoy it while we can, so come discuss the options at our September meeting on the 18th. As always, the Third Thursday, Make way to the Professional Air waiting room in the KBDN Flight Services Building. Check in around around 6pm. Pig out at our 6:30pm potluck, and stay for the usual 'formal' meeting at 7pm. I expect our Fly-Out day to be great, and even greater next Friday and Saturday in Madras at the Airshow. Many that people that know consider the night show to be the best just about anywhere. There is nothing like watching aerobatics as the sun sets behind Mt Jefferson in the background. Be sure to buy your tickets in advance no their website: www.cascadeairshow.com Calendar: 18 August – Monthly Meeting 20 August – Monthly Fly-out 26-27 August – Airshow of the Cascades (S33) 10-11 September – WAAAM Fly-In 15 September – Monthly Meeting 17 September – Monthly Fly-out 20 October – Monthly Meeting 22 October – Monthly Fly-Out July Fly-out: Wow, as pretty a day as you’ll ever see for a Fly-Out. Not a cloud in the sky, hardly a breath of a wind. What a great day to head to the weekly Newport Airport (KONP). Kim Muinch flew his RV, Mike and Ann Bond their Cutlass RG followed by Gary Miller and Matt Rhodes followed in a 210. The BBQ lunch was fine, and a lot of local and transient pilots to chat with. Matt and Gary took the short walk down to the beach, don’t tell anyone about the No Trespassing signs... My Inbox: The Hood River/WAAAM Fly-In will be on September 10th and 11th. The museum is always awesome, even better on a nice September day when they put on the Ritz! Oh, and flying in by Mt Hood, and down the Hood River Valley is always a treat.
