President's Message:

It is the Third Thursday of the month, August 17th . Head on over to
the Bend Builders Assist hanger, 63030 Powell Butte Road, on the south
west corner of KBDN, at 6pm for our monthly meeting.

Bring your own dinner, and we’ll eat right away before food get
cold.  As always, many thanks go out to Mike Robertson, and Mike
Wissing, for letting us use their space.

Bend Airport Master Plan

I was surprised to find an undated 2022 Airport Master Plan: Final
Report on the Bend city web site.  No announcement?  Maybe there is
nothing in there we need to know?  No indication that it has been
approved.  If you like data and charts, this report has a lot for you to
chew on.  340 pages.

The Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) sucks up the majority of the
available funds for the next 10 year period.  Before that the airport
lighting and signage will be updated to LEDs.  After the ATCT is built,
around 2026, the airport will be fenced.  A late addition to the plan
is a small public restroom on the westside, maybe in 2025.  Followed by
a similar restroom on the eastside, maybe 5 years later.  Let us hope
they do not disappear like the last public restrooms, and associated
facilities, did.

There will be no runway changes before 2032, but there will be some
taxiway and apron work.

There is a suggestion that Butler Market Road and Powell Butte
Highway gets a roundabout.

Airshow of the Cascades:

Be there, or be square.  Friday night August 25th and Saturday August
26th.  For tickets and more information:

89th Annual Jordan Dinner:

The Dinner, including the 18th Annual Cruise-in and Fly-in, will be
on September 24th at Gillette Field, OR51.  Events start at 10:30 am,
dinner will be served until they run out, or 2pm.  A short flight to a
nicely groomed dirt runway.  Always a fun time.

Everyone that could fly, was flying elsewhere, so No July Fly-out.
