December – Holiday Party w/ EAA August Fly-Out: The August Fly-out was a slightly odd one for us. We flew Sunday, not Saturday, to Troutdale Airport (KTTD). Their EAA and OPA Chapters had a free hamburger lunch for all that attended. Right at their FBO, just like KBDN used to have. Students pilots, old pilots, and even a few bold pilots mingling in the sunshine whie scarfing down the good food. There was even a firefighting helicopter on display, with nothing else to do. Next time we fly that direction the scenery will be much different due to the extensive wildfire damage.
