Website: http://co-opa.com November 2014, Vol. 14, Issue 11 President's Message: Ouch, we got to “the weather outside is frightful” stage very early this year. I think the sudden shock made it seem worse than it would have been in February when we are all re-adjusted to the cold and snow. So if you are brave join us for our monthly meeting at 6pm in the KBDN Flight Services Building. Stick around for the potluck at 6:30pm and the short formal meeting at 7pm. Sadly the weather forecast includes rain and/or snow every day and night until Thanksgiving. Saturday's forecast is a 60% chance of precipitation and gusts to 28mph. Looks like we'll pick a place in Bend for our 'Fly-Out” this weekend. And stay tuned for our annual Holiday party in December! Our originally scheduled destination was the annual OPA Convention held this year at the Lane Community College facility on the Eugene Airport (EUG). The festivities planed to start at 10am. The weather forecast was for clearing after 11am, or possibly 1pm, at EUG. I wanted to be there for the whole event, so I drove the almost three hours from Bend. Kevin Muinch really wanted to fly, so he left Bend around 11am for the one hour flight. Mike and Ann Bond dispensed with the long drive, or uncertain flight, an headed to iHop. Three different solutions to a weather conundrum, and all three valid solutions, but those the made the convention heard some really good presentations.
