President's Message:

We've almost done it.  Almost finished another year of flying, or at
least talking flying.  But we have to finish strong!  So let's all meet
at the Black Bear Diner in Bend for an end of year Holiday Extravaganza.

The weather forecast for this month's fly-out also looks promising,
but with Christmas around the corner may a local breakfast may be in
order.  Something to discuss at the meeting.

It's been a good year for General Aviation in Central Oregon, so
we'll have lot's to reminisce about as well as plan for in the New Year.

November Fly-Out:

Our good luck from the October Fly-out continued into November.
Despite a dismal summer and fall in the Willamette Valley this day was
calm and severely clear.  So after waiting a bit longer than usual for
things to warm up, our group headed over the hill for Albany Airport
(S12).

Ken Muinch and Ed Endsley stopped in at Lebanon State Airport (S30)
for cheap gas.

Not a bump or a cloud on the way over.  S12 has a nice 3000x75 foot runway that is easy to find since it is at the Northwest corner of the intersection of  I-5 and US-20.  

There is a Chinese restaurant on the south end of the field and the
Cascade Grill on the Northeast corner of the field.  The Grill opens at
11:30am, not a breakfast destination, but a great place for us to have
lunch.  We'll have to come back next year to try the Chinese.
